No cabe duda que la moda es arte, solo que generalmente no tiene como finalidad ser expuesta en un museo. A pesar de que su principal función es vestir a los seres humanos no se puede negar que es una verdadera forma de expresión. Además la mayoría de los diseños de moda son inspirados en obras artísticas con un profundo significado.
Por esta misma razón me llamó mucho la atención la nueva colección de Natalia Mazzei llamada Holiday II. Me encanta que sea una diseñadora caraqueña, viviendo en Nueva York y que decida expresar en sus diseños la cultura venezolana, inspirándose en el venezolano y artista Jesús Soto.
Viendo las fotos de campaña hechas por el increíble fotógrafo Conrado Veliz y con la modelo australiana Hirschy Grace; se pueden presenciar las características de Soto, como lo es el cinetismo; que se puede apreciar por el uso de los flecos y la paleta de colores típica de él como es el azul rey, amarillo, blanco y rojo contrastado con el negro.
‘’Para mí la moda es sinónimo de arte y trato de reflejar ese sentir en cada pieza que diseño. Busco mostrar mi perspectiva sobre una idea. Al igual que un artista lo hace con sus obras, exteriorizo mi propia visión de un tema en particular en algún soporte o material’’ Natalia Mazzei
Y sin lugar a dudas considero que logró crear su propia versión de arte inspirada en este increíble artista.
Mis looks favoritos son: El top amarillo de flecos de la primera foto, el azul con negro de la tercera y el jumpsuit negro con flecos. ¿Cuál es el de ustedes?

Jesús Soto – exposición
There is no doubt that fashion is art, just generally not intended to be exhibited in a museum. Although its primary function is to dress humans we cannot deny that is a true form of expression. In addition most fashion designs are inspired by a work of art with a deep meaning.
For this reason it caught my attention the new collection of Natalia Mazzei called Holiday II. I love that she is a designer from Caracas living in New York and that she decided to express in her designs the Venezuelan culture, inspired by the Venezuelan artist Jesús Soto.
While checking the campaign photos made by Conrado Veliz an amazing Venezuelan photographer and the Australian model, Hirschy Grace; I witnessed the presence of Soto features in her designs, such as the kinetic art; which can be seen by the use of fringes and the color palette typical of him such as royal blue, yellow, white and red contrasted with black.

And without a doubt I consider that she managed to create its own version of art inspired by this amazing artist.
My favorite looks are: the yellow fringed top of the first photo, the look of blue with black of the third photo and the fringed black jumpsuit. Which is your favorite?
