Chanel, Dior y Louis Vuitton escogieron destinos icónicos para mostrar ante el mundo sus nuevas colecciones crucero. Por mí parte no vi los desfiles sino unos días después por Youtube.
Siento que antes, muchas de mis bloggers o personalidades favoritas, mostraban todo por Snapchat y yo me sentía cómo si estuviese ahí mismo en el desfile, pero esta vez como todo el mundo se mudó a los Instagram Stories no pude ver con detalle muchas publicaciones relacionadas con los desfiles. Creo que esto se debe a la saturación de usuarios que tengo en Instagram y a la información, ¿qué piensan ustedes? ¿les pasó lo mismo? Me parece que Snapchat era más personal.
Por eso también me dedico a hacer estos posts, para mostrarles los desfiles de manera resumida y que no se pierdan nada del mundo de la moda.
Continuemos con un recuento de cada colección y del desfile cómo tal.
Chanel, Dior and Louis Vuitton chose iconic destinations to show the world their new cruise collections. I did not see the runways until a few days later on Youtube.
I feel that before, many of my favorite bloggers or famous personalities, showed everything on Snapchat and I always felt like I was right there in the fashion show, but this time, as everyone moved to Instagram Stories I could not see in detail, publications related with the runways. I think this is due to the saturation of users I have in Instagram and the information. What do you guys think? Did the same thing happen to you? I think Snapchat was more personal.
That’s why I also dedicate myself in making these posts, to show you the runways in a summarized way and to keep you updated about the fashion world.
Let’s continue with a recount of each collection and runway.
Chanel presenta «LA MODERNITÉ DE L’ANTIQUITÉ»
«La modernidad de la antigüedad» es el nombre que se le dio a esta nueva colección crucero inspirada en la antigua Grecia. Esta vez la maison no presentó su colección en un país exótico como lo fue el desfile en Cuba del año pasado (ver post sobre eso aquí), sino que Chanel volvió a París, específicamente en el Gran Palais. Sin embargo, la maison se dio la tarea de no hacer que sus invitados se sintiesen ni en esta época, ni en Francia, ya que uno de los espacios del palacio fue transformado sorprendentemente en las ruinas del Partenón de Atenas.
Las modelos desfilaron representando diosas griegas, con accesorios dorados y diseños con una paleta de colores con dorados, tonos pasteles y el color marfil como protagonista, además con estampados étnicos, florales y elegantes transparencias.
En el desfile destacaron hermosos diseños como: el famoso tweed, vestidos drapeados, trajes de baños con túnicas transparentes y faldas y pantalones plisados. Los zapatos destacados fueron las sandalias estilo gladiador (¿volverán a estar en tendencia?) y la mayoría de los accesorios eran de color dorado: broches, pulseras, carteras, pendientes largos y unos guantes únicos que me pregunto también si se harán tendencia.
Karl Lagerfeld explicó la colección crucero diciendo «Estoy sugiriendo recordar el pasado para encarar el futuro. Para crear el futuro, hay que prestar atención al pasado». «Veo a Grecia como el origen de la belleza y la cultura, donde había una libertad maravillosa de movilidad que desde entonces ha desaparecido». Una frase muy acertada para la realidad que vive el mundo hoy en día, ¿no creen?
Chanel presents «LA MODERNITÉ DE L’ANTIQUITÉ»
«The modernity of antiquity» is the name given to this new cruise collection inspired by ancient Greece. This time the maison did not present the collection in an exotic country like the fashion show in Cuba last year (see post about it here), but Chanel returned to Paris, specifically in the Grand Palais. However, the maison didn’t make his guests feel neither in this era nor in France, since one of the spaces of the palace was surprisingly transformed into the ruins of the Parthenon of Athens.
The models walked representing Greek goddesses, with gold accessories and designs with a palette of colors full of golds, pastels and the ivory color as the protagonist, in addition designs with ethnic prints, floral and elegant transparencies.
The highlight of the runway were the beautiful designs such as the famous tweed, draped dresses, bathing suits with transparent robes and skirts and pleated pants. The highlight shoes were gladiator sandals (Will they be back as a trend?) And most of the accessories were gold: bracelets, bags, long earrings and some unique gloves that I wonder if they will be a trend too.
Karl Lagerfeld explained the cruise collection by saying «I am suggesting to remember the past to face the future. To create the future, we must pay attention to the past.» «I see Greece as the origin of beauty and culture, where there was a wonderful freedom of mobility that has since disappeared.» A very accurate phrase for the reality the world is living right now, don’t you think?

El lado Sauvage de Dior
La primera colección crucero de Maria Grazia Chiuri fue presentada en el desierto de Los Angeles. La explicación se debe a que la diseñadora quiso continuar con la historia de Christian Dior, ya que este visitó California hace 70 años atrás. Los invitados fueron llevados al pleno desierto de Calabasas, donde se construyó un ambiente al estilo safari rodeado de inmensos globos aerostáticos. Tal como el lugar daba indicios, no cabe duda que la colección estaba inspirada en el mundo del lejano oeste.
Maria Grazia quiso representar en sus diseños la feminidad salvaje a través de las siluetas, estampados y prendas.Los estampados estaban inspirados en las pinturas de Georgia O’ Keeffe -artista admirada por la diseñadora- y por las pinturas prehistóricas del museo Lascaux, que una vez también fueron inspiración para el fundador de la maison.
Cuando vi el desfile amé que sintieras que las pinturas estaban plasmadas en las telas, me pareció una colección encantadora a la vista y de la cual sueño con que muchos de los vestidos estén en mi guardarropa (algún día jaja). La paleta de colores estaba llena de ocres y también de colores vivos como el rojo y el naranja. Entre las prendas destacadas: los sombreros de cowboy, los tapados con estampados, chokers, sandalias y botines, vestidos con transparencias y abrigos de pieles.
The Sauvage side of Dior
The first cruise collection by Maria Grazia Chiuri was presented in the desert of Los Angeles. The explanation is because the designer wanted to continue with the story of Christian Dior, since he visited California 70 years ago. The guests were taken to the Calabasas desert, where it was built a safari-style environment surrounded by huge hot air balloons. Maria Grazia wanted to represent in her designs the wild femininity through the silhouettes, prints and garments. The prints were inspired by the paintings of Georgia O ‘Keeffe – artist admired by the designer – and by the prehistoric paintings of the Lascaux museum, in which a time ago was also inspiration for the founder of the maison.
When I saw the runway I loved that you felt that the paintings were embodied in the fabrics, I found it a very charming collection and I dream that many of those dresses could be in my wardrobe (one day ha ha). The palette of colors was filled with ochres and also bright colors like red and orange. Among the highlights: cowboy hats, caps with prints, chokers, sandals and boots, transparent dresses and fur coats.

Tributo a Kansai Yamamoto por Louis Vuitton
Esta sería la cuarta colección crucero diseñada por Nicholas Ghesquiere para LouisVuitton. Esta vez los invitados viajaron al oriente, a Japón para poder apreciar la colección en otro lugar diferente a las dos últimas colecciones, la penúltima en el desierto de Palm Springs y la última con vista al mar en Río de Janeiro (ver post aquí), y para mantener la tradición, nunca puede faltar el hito arquitectónico que ambienta las colecciones de Louis Vuitton.
Esta vez el evento se realizó en las afueras del Museo de Miho al sudeste de Tokyo. Ubicado en la montaña, este lugar tiene la mezcla perfecta entre naturaleza y urbanismo.
Nicholas inspiró su colección en el famoso diseñador Kansai Yamamoto (conocido por hacer los trajes de Bowie), el cual se vio representado en el desfile con las carteras decoradas con máscaras kabuki y estampas del diseñador japonés. Los samurais, las artes marciales y las geishas también fueron una gran fuente de inspiración para el diseñador.
Las modelos desfilaron con un maquillaje muy parecido a los kabukis y geishas: fuerte delineado y cejas marcadas. Destacaron las prendas superpuestas, el animal print, estampados orientales, rayas, las gorras (parecidas a cascos japoneses), los cinturones y prendas muy estructuradas. Definitivamente amé este desfile, muy bien armado e impresionante de ver un desfile de 55 modelos en 17 minutos.
Dato curioso una de las modelos fue la actriz coreana Doona Bae de Sense 8
Tribute to Kansai Yamamoto by Louis Vuitton
This would be the fourth cruise collection designed by Nicholas Ghesquiere for LouisVuitton. This time the guests traveled to Japan to see the collection in a different place than the last two collections – one in the desert of Palm Springs and the last one with an ocean view in Rio de Janeiro (see post here) and to keep up with tradition, there is always an architectural landmark that sets the Louis Vuitton collections .
This time the event was held on the outside of Miho Museum at the southeast of Tokyo. Located in the mountains, this place has the perfect mixture of nature and urbanism.
Nicholas was inspired to make his collection in the famous designer Kansai Yamamoto (known for making Bowie’s suits), who was represented in the runway with the bags decorated with kabuki masks and prints by the Japanese designer. Samurai, martial arts and geishas were also a great source of inspiration for the designer.
The models walked the runway with a makeup very similar to the kabukis and geishas: strong eyeliner and marked eyebrows. The highlights of the designs were: layering garments, animal print, oriental prints, stripes, hats (similar to Japanese helmets), belts and very structured garments. I personally love this runway, very well organized and impressive to see a runway with 55 models walking in 17 minutes.
Curious fact: one of the models was Korean actress Doona Bae from Sense 8
