La semana pasada fue la Semana de La Moda en Nueva York y aunque nunca he ido, estoy igual de pendiente como si estuviese allá (imagínate si hubiera ido jaja). Siempre hago un poco de research para ver las pasarelas y mantenerme al día con lo nuevo en el mundo de la moda .
Por lo que vi esta vez, no hubo tanto negro para ser colecciones de otoño-invierno, muchos accesorios de lujo y muchas prendas oversized (Pueden ver todas las fotos sobre los desfiles que publiqué en mi cuenta de Instagram @lifeenboga). Entre las cosas que estaba pendiente este año era ver la nueva era de Calvin Klein con Raf Simons, ver si esta vez Yeezy iba a tener tantas críticas como el año pasado y por supuesto, las tendencias más innovadoras.
Aquí les muestro algunas tendencias:
Last week was New York Fashion Week and although I’ve never been there, I’m just as alert as if I were there (imagine if I go haha). I always do a little research to see the catwalks and keep up with the news in the world of fashion.
From what I saw this time, there was not so much black as to expected for collections for fall- winter, lots of fancy accessories and lots of oversized garments (You can see all the photos about the runways I posted on my Instagram account @lifeenboga). Among the things that I was looking for this year’s fashion week was seeing the new era of Calvin Klein with Raf Simons, see if this time Yeezy was going to have as much criticism as last year and of course, the most innovative trends.
Here are some trends:
Extra grande: La ropa ceñida al cuerpo no será una necesidad para Otoño- Invierno, mientras más cómodo mejor.
Oversized: The tight-fitting clothing will not be a necessity for Fall-Winter, the more comfortable the better.
Terciopelo muy colorido: pensé que desaparecería esta tendencia, pero al parecer vino para quedarse. La propuesta es terciopelo brillante y bastante colorido para la noche.
Coloured velvet: I thought this trend would dissapear but it seems it’s staying for a while. The proposal is a bright velvet and quite colorful for the night.
Gorros Grandes: ¿Para qué llevar un gorro sencillo aburrido? Mientras más destaque mejor
Big Hats: Why wear a plain boring hat? The more you emphasize the better
Medias de malla: Aunque ya están en súper tendencia debajo de los jeans, los seguiremos viendo debajo de vestidos y faldas.
Fishnet tights: Although they are already in trend underneath the jeans, we will continue to see them under dresses and skirts.
Brocado: muy elegante y creo que siempre lo veremos en el transcurso de los años.

Tommyland: Esta vez la semana de la moda no se inauguró necesariamente en NuevaYork. Tommy Hilfiger se dio la tarea de hacer un evento memorable donde su desfile de la colección de TommyxGigi se trasladó a Venice Beach en Los Angeles. Fue una feria increíble donde habían atracciones, un concierto de Fergie y donde el concepto de «See now, Buy Now» se hizo realidad, ya que Tommy Hilfiger es otro de los diseñadores que se unió al movimiento de crear colecciones que se pueden comprar justo al finalizar el desfile y diseñar para la temporada siguiente, es decir, en este caso no presentó la colección invierno-otoño sino primavera-verano.
Tommyland: This time the fashion week was not necessarily inaugurated in New York. Tommy Hilfiger took on the task of making a memorable event where his TommyxGigi collection’s fashion show moved to Venice Beach, in Los Angeles. It was an incredible festival with attractions, a concert by Fergie and where the concept of «See now, Buy Now» came true, because Tommy Hilfiger is another designer who joined the movement to create collections that can be bought right at the end of the runway and that designs for the following season, for example he did not present the collection for fall-winter but for spring-summer.
La nueva era de Calvin Klein:
Desde el año pasado que Raf Simons anunció que ya no iba a ser más director creativo de Dior y unos meses después, que su nuevo rumbo era trabajar para Calvin Klein, hemos estado esperando con ansias a ver que nueva propuesta traería para esta marca. Si bien Calvin Klein se caracteriza por ser minimalista y sexy, Raf Simons se encargó de darle su toque innovador y artístico describiendo su colección como «la unión de personajes e individuos diferentes, como los propios Estados Unidos”, creando piezas como abrigos, vestidos y pantalones donde había mezcla tanto de colores vivos como de texturas (entre ellas el plástico). ¿Qué les parece? Además la marca cambió de logo.
The New Age of Calvin Klein:
Since last year Raf Simons announced that he would no longer be Dior’s creative director, and a few months later, that his new course was to work for Calvin Klein, we have been looking forward to see what new proposals he would bring for this brand. While Calvin Klein is characterized by being minimalist and sexy, Raf Simons was responsible for giving his innovative and artistic touch describing his collection as «the union of different characters and individuals, such as the United States», creating pieces such as coats, dresses and Trousers where there was a mix of both bright colors and textures (including plastic). What do you think? Also the brand change his logo.
Yeezy Season 5 :
El año pasado no había ni un titular que hablara bien de la colección del rapero , ya que no hubo nada innovador, hubo modelos que se desmayaron y hubo muchos periodistas molestos por el mal trato que recibieron. Este año al parecer se reivindicó; comenzó a la hora y tanto los espectadores como las modelos pudieron disfrutar sin problema. Lo innovador es que además de mostrar la colección de manera tradicional con modelos en pasarela, proyectó a través de una pantalla gigante los modelos en un plataforma rotativa, por lo que hasta las personas con los puestos de atrás pudieron apreciar bien los diseños. En la colección se vio mucho denim, chaquetas y pantalones oversized, estampado militar y botas altas y unos sneakers que pudieran ser los nuevos Yeezys.
Yeezy Season 5:
Last year there was not a headline that spoke well of the rapper’s collection, as there was nothing innovative, there were models who fainted and there were many journalists annoyed by the treatment they received. This year he was apparently claimed; the show began on time and both viewers and models could enjoy without problem. The innovative thing is that in addition to showing the collection in a traditional way with models on the runway, it projected through a giant screen the models in a rotating platform, reason why even the people with the far away seats could appreciate the designs well. In the collection there was a lot of denim, oversize jackets and pants, military print and high boots and some sneakers that could be the new Yeezys.
Marc Jacobs:
El diseñador se inspiró en un documental sobre la evolución del Hip Hop y la colección tenía aires setentosos con colores como el camel y tonos de marrón. El año pasado los protagonista fueron las botas y zapatos con plataformas gigantes, este año, los sombreros gigantes y los diseños originales de abrigos. Durante el show no hubo música y estaba prohibido el uso de celulares, por lo que el diseñador se aseguró que todos prestaran atención a sus diseños.
Marc Jacobs:
The designer was inspired by a documentary about the evolution of Hip Hop and the collection had seventy vibes with colors like camel and shades of brown. Last year the protagonists were the boots and shoes with giant platforms, this year, giants hats and original designs of coats. During the show there was no music and it was forbidden to use cell phones, so the designer made sure that everyone paid attention to their designs.
Otros desfiles para comentar fueron el de Michael Kors, por la diversidad del casting de modelos y el de Prabal Gurung, por tener franelas con statements políticos. En general considero que muchos de los desfiles tuvieron mensajes políticos hacia el presidente de Estado Unidos.
Les aseguro que puedo hacer un artículo mucho más largo ya que hay muchas cosas que comentar pero la idea era hacer algo lo más resumido posible.
Other fashion shows worth to comment were Michael Kors for the diversity of the casting of the models, another, Prabal Gurung for having t-shirts with political statements. In general, I consider that many of the runways had political messages to the president of the United States.
