¡Hola a todos! Nunca es tarde para hacer un repaso de los mejores desfiles de colecciones crucero. Como les había contado en otros posts, no importa que sean marcas muy lujosas, siempre es interesante ver qué propuestas traen para tomar ideas de allí para vestirnos.
A continuación, todos a bordo para hacer un re conteo de unas las mejores colecciones:
Hello everyone! It is never too late to make a review of the best cruise collection shows. As I had told you in other posts, even though they are luxury brands, it is always interesting to see what new proposals they bring to the table and which ideas we could take to dress.

Quizás para muchos fue polémico que la maison haya escogido a Cuba (específicamente El Paseo del Prado) como lugar para presentar el desfile de su colección crucero 2016-2017, personalmente considero que Karl Lagerfeld, conocido como el Káiser de la moda acertó en este tipo de decisiones. Sin bien es de conocimiento público, la isla de Cuba estuvo sin visitas desde hace ya más de 50 años y al re-establecer las relaciones con Estados Unidos muchas figuras públicas como Obama, los Rolling Stones, el Papa y más, se habían acercado a la isla para conocerla. Cuba se había convertido de un día para otro en el centro turístico de más interés en el mundo. Además, aunque sea un contraste fuerte entre la pobreza que vive el pueblo cubano y realizar este tipo de desfiles, igual no se le impidió a muchos de los ciudadanos para que se acerquen y vean el desfile.
El desfile además fue planificado desde el año pasado por lo que todo estaba fríamente calculado y me pareció súper oportuno, Chanel dio de qué hablar, fue el primer desfile que se dio en latino américa y la colección estaba hermosa. Inspirada en Cuba, la colección tenía sombreros al estilo panameño, boinas, mucho color, estampados (los de carros de los años 50 me gustaron), accesorios con la firma de «Coco Chanel», zapatos y sandalias flats y franelas con estampados.
¿Qué tendencias podemos aprender?
-Utilizar vestidos sobre franelas o camisas blancas.
– Utilizar piezas con transparencias.
-Usar graphic Tees con maxi faldas estampadas.
-Llevar sombreros.
Perhaps for many people it was controversial that the maison has chosen Cuba (specifically the Paseo del Prado) as a place to present their cruise collection 2016-2017, personally, I feel that Karl Lagerfeld, known as the Kaiser of fashion, hit right in this decision. As a public knowledge, the island of Cuba didn’t have visits for more than 50 years ago and the moment it re-establish the relations with the United States many public figures like Obama, the Rolling Stones, the Pope and more, had approached the island to explore it. From one day to another, Cuba became the most interesting tourist attraction in the world. However, even if there was a strong contrast between poverty experienced by the cubans and this type of luxury shows, many of the citizens could come and see the fashion show. For me, this is proof that communism is something that really does not make much sense.
Also, the fashion show was planned since last year so everything was calculated and I found it extremely timely. Chanel gave people something to talk about, it was the first Chanel show that took place in Latin America and the collection was beautiful. Inspired by Cuba, the collection had Panamanian style hats, berets, lots of color, prints (I liked the print of cars from the 50’s), accessories with the «Coco Chanel» signature, flat shoes and sandals and graphic t-shirts
What trends can we learn?
-Layer dresses on top of shirts
– Use pieces with transparencies.
-Use Graphic Tees with maxi skirts.
-Wear Hats.
Louis Vuitton y la arquitectura brasilera:

La lujosa firma decidió expandir sus fronteras y aterrizó en Sao Paulo, Brasil, en el Niterói Contemporary Art Museum. Creo que era un buen lugar para mostrar una colección crucero, tal cual como afirmó el diseñador Nicolas Guesquière «Brasil está de moda» y ese museo definitivamente tiene una arquitectura increíble.
La colección fue bastante colorida, futurista así que el diseñador capaz quiere llevar a la marca a un público más juvenil. Hubo mezclas de texturas, uso de neopreno, siluetas y cortes diferentes y mucho layering. Las carteras Louis Vuitton tenían diseños diferentes, como el boom box que corrió por las redes sociales y uno de los accesorios principales fueron las cintas en el cuello. A pesar de todos esos contrastes, pienso que el diseñador se inspiró de brasil en los colores vivos y la arquitectura, pero no es algo identificable a simple vista, creo que si se hubiera hecho esta colección en Japón te creerías que se inspiró de la cultura pop y de personajes de videojuegos de allí. Pero sin duda, la ambientación engranaba perfecto.
¿Qué tendencias podemos aprender?
-Layering
– Mezclar diferentes texturas y utilizar colores vivos
-Usar neopreno para un look más futurista
– LLevar cintas en el cuello
-Utilizar maxi vestidos
The luxury firm decided to expand its borders and landed in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in Niterói Contemporary Art Museum. I think it was a good place to present a cruise collection, exactly as the designer Nicolas Guesquiere said «Brazil is fashionable» and that museum definitely has an incredible architecture.
The collection was quite colorful and futuristic so maybe the designer wants to take the brand to a more youthful audience. There were mixtures of textures, the use of neoprene, different cuts and silhouettes and a lot of layering. Louis Vuitton bags had different designs, such as the boom box that ran all over social media and one of the main accessories was the band around the neck. Despite all these contrasts, I think the designer was inspired by Brazil in bright colors and architecture, but I don’t feel you can see it at first glance, I think if he had done this collection in Japan you’d think he was inspired culture pop and video game characters there. However, the environment fit in perfectly.
What trends can we learn?
-Layering
– Mix different textures and use vivid colors
-Use Neoprene for a more futuristic look
– Wear bands in the neck
-Use Maxi dresses
El viaje en el Dior Express

Para el desfile de su colección crucero la maison du Dior escogió, a diferencia de las otras firmas, un lugar que muy poco tiene que ver con el verano: Inglaterra. La locación específica fue en el Palacio de Blenheim, en las afueras de Oxford. La mejor parte fue la manera en que transportaron a los invitados, el cual fue a través de un tren decorado por dentro y con comida para los pasajeros. Aunque muchas personas dudaron de la locación del lugar porque lo frío no combina para una colección resort, me parece que la colección era bastante elegante, ayudo el juego de estampados y reflejaba el estilo francés que caracterizan a Dior.
Además según la explicación de Dior en su página web, los diseñadores Lucie Meier y Serge Ruffieux buscaron hacerle tributo al «New Look» con el cual el diseñador Christian Dior conquistó al mundo. Reinventaron el tweed, el tejido príncipe de Gales e incluso la chaqueta Bar.
For their cruise collection show la maison du Dior chose a place that has very little to do with summer: England. The specific location was at Blenheim Palace, just outside Oxford. The best part was the way they transported the guests, which was in a train decorated inside and that had food for passengers. Although many people doubted the location of the place because they thought it was very cold and didn’t make sense for a resort collection, I think the collection was quite elegant, the mix of patterns helped and reflected the French style that characterizes Dior.
Dior explained on its website that designers Lucie Meier and Serge Ruffieux made a tribute to «New Look» which the designer, Christian Dior conquered the world. They reinvented the tweed, Prince of Wales fabric and even the Bar jacket.
¿Qué tendencias podemos aprender?
– Layering vestidos y tops encima de otra pieza de ropa o faldas cortas encima de pantalones.
– Jugar combinando distintos estampados.
– Resaltar la mirada con sombras fuertes (si no eres experta aprenderlo a hacer primero).
– Lleva chaquetas ajustadas a la cintura para realzar tu figura.
-Destaca con accesorios dorados.
Hay muchísimas colecciones resort que pudiera comentar pero estas me parecieron las que más dieron de qué hablar. Espero que les haya gustado este post y que las haya inspirado tanto como a mí.

What trends can we learn?
– Layering dresses and tops on top of another piece of clothing or short skirts over pants.
– Play mixing different prints.
– Highlight your look with strong eye shadows (if you’re not an expert learn to do it first).
– Wear waist jackets to enhance your figure.
– Shine with gold accessories.
