¿Cómo es una mujer poderosa?

La primavera en Buenos Aires trajo consigo algunos cambios. Si bien les dije que estaba pasando por un momento difícil en uno de los últimos posts (puedes leerlo aquí) y que prometía no perderme más, tuve que tomarme un tiempito más para re conectarme conmigo misma y por supuesto preparar material (como estas lindas fotos hechas por mi amiga Camila Herrera/ IG: @mila.herrera).

¡La buena noticia es que ya estoy de mejor ánimo! Conseguí un trabajo fijo. No es de mi carrera pero no importa, no saben lo agradecida que estoy, esto me da más tranquilidad y me ayuda a recuperar la confianza que tanto perdí en el camino.

En esos días de meditación y de re conectarme conmigo misma estaba recordando cómo me visualizaba yo en el futuro y lo que significaba para mí ser una mujer independiente y poderosa. Lo que me di cuenta, es que yo veía una mujer que al parecer tenía todo: confianza en si misma, dedicada a lo que le gusta, independiente económicamente y llena de amor en su vida.  Con todo lo que me había pasado, lo que hacía era preguntarme si realmente llegaría a ser esa mujer y me di cuenta, que yo  estaba enfocada en el resultado como si fuese algo fácil.

La realidad es que una mujer realmente poderosa es aquella que ha sufrido, que ha pasado por momentos difíciles pero que luego de caerse se levantó, es una mujer humilde; que reconoce sus propios errores y que sobre todo reconoce que tiene sentimientos que influyen sobre ella.

Es una mujer que a lo largo del camino, descubre qué es lo que quiere, lo que le gusta y no le gusta. Una mujer que ha recorrido un camino para aprender a amarse a si misma y por último, enfrentar sus miedos para luchar por sus pasiones.

Mi mensaje es que el poder y la independencia se construyen, que el término de «mujer poderosa» es mucho más complejo y que no se mide con el ingreso económico o el nivel de confianza que se tenga.

Además en el mundo está cambiando esa percepción de la mujer perfecta o la que depende de un hombre para solucionar sus problemas. Realmente no somos perfectas pero si puedo decir que somos multifacéticas y es interesante como ya en la TV podemos ver más mujeres reales. Por ejemplo -y aprovecho de recomendarles- la serie de Big Little Lies y el personaje de Annalise Keating en How To Get Away With Murder.

La historia de Big Little Lies se centra en 5  mujeres diferentes (todas madres) y cómo cada una enfrenta la vida de manera diferente, lo cual es interesante porque nos enriquece de diferentes percepciones femeninas y los problemas que enfrentamos en la sociedad.

El personaje de Annalise en How to Get Away With Murder  es interesante porque en los primeros episodios se muestra como una mujer segura, rica y con reconocimiento por su trabajo como abogada, pero a medida que avanza la historia puedes ver que el personaje también atravesó y atraviesa por momentos oscuros.

Los personajes no son perfectos y son bastante complejos pero a mi parecer transmiten lo que realmente es una mujer poderosa (para entender a profundidad del tema les recomiendo las series, no quería dar spoilers).

¿Para ti cómo es una mujer poderosa?

Spring in Buenos Aires has brought some changes. Although I told you that I was going through a difficult moment in one of the last posts (you can read it here) and that I promised not to get lost anymore, I had to take a little more time to reconnect with myself and of course, prepare material (like these beautiful photos) made by my friend Camila Herrera /IG: @mila.herrera).

The good news is that I’m in a better mood! I got a job. It’s not from my career but it does not matter, you don’t know how grateful I am, this gives me more peace of mind and helps me to recover the confidence I lost along the way.

In those days of meditation and reconnecting with myself I was remembering how I visualized myself in the future and what it meant for me to be an independent and powerful woman. What I realized, was that I saw a woman who apparently had everything: self-confidence, dedicated to what she likes, economically independent and full of love in her life. With all that had happened to me,  I asked myself if I would really become that woman and I realized that I was focusing on the result as if it were something that you get so easy.

The real deal is that a powerful woman is one who has suffered, who has gone through difficult times but after falling, she gets up, is a humble woman; who recognizes his own mistakes and above all, recognizes that she has feelings that influence her.

She is a woman who, along the way, discovers what she wants, what she likes and does not like. A woman who has traveled a path to learn to love herself and, finally, face her fears to fight for her passions.

My message is that power and independence are built, that the term «powerful woman» is much more complex and that it is not measured by the economic income or the level of confidence one has.

Also the world is changing the perception of the perfect woman or the one that depends on a man to solve their problems. We are not really perfect but one thing I can say is that we are multifaceted and the interesting thing is that the TV is showing us real women characters. For example, and I take the opportunity to recommend them, the series of Big Little Lies and the character of Annalise Keating in How To Get Away With Murder.

The story of Big Little Lies focuses on 5 different women (all mothers) and how each one faces their life in a different way, which is interesting because it enriches us with different feminine perceptions and the problems we face in society.

The character of Annalise in How to Get Away With Murder is interesting because in the first episodes she shows herself as a confident, rich woman and with recognition for her work as a lawyer, but as the story progresses you can see that the character also went and  goes through dark moments.

The characters are not perfect and they are quite complex but in my opinion they convey what a really powerful woman is (to understand the subject in depth, I recommend the series, I didn’t want to give you spoilers).

Para este look quise crear un look cómodo para el trabajo. Antes la idea de vestir mezclando piezas «cómodas» y «profesionales» era impensable ya que las reglas de vestimenta para ciertos trabajos era mucho más formal y el uso de tacones era indispensable. Hoy en día, las reglas del juego han cambiado y se puede crear un look cómodo pero sin dejar lucir chic y profesional.

Yo considero que el negro y un blazer siempre estarán a tu favor para lucir elegante y a la hora de querer estar cómoda no tengas miedo de combinar tu traje con zapatillas (zapatos de goma) ¡El sporty chic se usa hasta para trabajar!

About the look:

For this look I wanted to create a comfortable look for work. Before, the idea of wearing «comfortable» and «professional» garments was unthinkable since the rules of clothing for certain jobs was more formal and the use of heels was indispensable. Today, the rules of the game have changed and you can create a comfortable look but still look chic and  professional.

I consider that the black color and a blazer will always be in your favor to look elegant and when it comes to wanting to be comfortable do not be afraid to wear your suit with sneakers. The sporty chic is even used to work!
