En honor a la época de premiaciones y, que muy pronto vienen los premios Oscars (el 26 de febrero, no se lo pierdan); quise hacer este post sobre el vestuario de La la land. Aunque no he visto todas las películas nominadas, les comentó que esta me fascinó y como toda amante de la moda me pareció visualmente muy atractiva ya que cada escena iba en sintonía con el vestuario.
Así que hice un poco de research y encontré estos facts sobre el vestuario de la película que pudiese interesarles:
In honor of award’s season and that soon comes the Oscars (February 26, do not miss it); I wanted to make this post about the costumes of the movie La la land. Although I have not seen all the films nominated, this one fascinated me and like any fashion lover I found it visually very attractive since each scene was in tune with the clothes.
So I did a little research and I found these facts about the costumes of the film that might interest you:
1- La diseñadora de vestuario fue Mary Zophres, quien ha trabajado para películas como «Interestelar» «No country for old men» y «Where art thou?».
2- Mary admitió que primera vez en su carrera que tuvo que trabajar tan en conjunto con el director de la película, director de producción y de escenografía. En las reuniones que tenía, estudiaban cada escena para hablar de la paleta de colores que se utilizaría.
1- The costume designer was Mary Zophres, who has worked for films such as «Interstellar» «No country for old men» and «Where art thou?».
2- Mary admitted that for the first time in her career she had to work so closely with the director of the film, production manager and set design. In the meetings they studied each scene to talk about the color palette that would be used.
3- La idea del vestuario era que fuese saturado y moderno pero, cómo los personajes Mia y Sebastian eran amantes de la historia y del pasado, debían transmitir a la vez un toque clásico de la Era Dorada.
4- La diseñadora ya había trabajado con Ryan Gosling y Emma Stone en «Gangster Squad» por lo que ya conocía cómo diseñar para sus tipos de cuerpos.
3 – The idea of the wardrobe was that it should be saturated and modern but, as the characters Mia and Sebastian were lovers of history and of the past, they had to transmit at the same time a classic vibe of the Golden Age.

8-Ella diseñó todo lo que Emma utilizaría para bailar, la idea era que fueran vestidos de líneas limpias y cómodos para bailar. Como dato curioso hasta el vestido amarillo tenía ropa interior que combinaba.

8- En el día querían que el vestuario de Mia fuera realista para una actriz que le cuesta conseguir un papel, así que Mary compró varias piezas en Playclothes una tienda vintage y hasta un top en H&M por 5$.
8- In the day they wanted Mia’s wardrobe to be realistic for an actress who struggles to get a role, so Mary bought several pieces at Playclothes a vintage store and even a top at H&M for $ 5.
9- Ya cuando Mia se vuelve famosa y está en un momento más maduro de su vida es cuando utiliza un vestido navy de Jason Wu que Mary afirma que se compró en Saks Fifth Avenue y que la inspiración vino de una foto de Catherine Deveneu usando un vestido similar.
10- Para Mary Zophres todo «En realidad fue una combinación de muchas cosas, pero lo más importante fue encontrar un balance entre lo que es clásico, bonito y romántico.»
